CURRENT SHORT-TERM MISSIONS INFORMATION:

Short-Term Trips for 2025

  • Guatemala: Coban (March)
  • East Asia (October)
  • Vietnam: HCMC / Phi (June, July, December)
  • USA/Mexico: El Cajon / Tijuana (Summer)

Important Dates

  • Applications will open 2/2
  • Application and (2) References deadline is 2/28/25 (midnight). Both references need to be submitted in order to have a completed application.

EXPECTATIONS

To help prepare their minds and hearts, all team members are expected to participate in the following:

  • 2 Mandatory Sunday Trainings (1 - 5PM):
    • 3/9 in Sr. Treehouse MPR after 2nd service
    • 3/23 in Sr. Treehouse MPR after 2nd service

  • Short-term teams are expected to attend these activities together:
    • Weekly team meetings
    • Friday Night Worship
    • AWANA
    • Food Pantry
    • Heart4OC

*NOTE: if you cannot attend any of the listed activities, absences will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please speak to someone from the missions committee.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

A short-term mission (non-medical) applicant must be a member of the Church of Southland. A member of Southland is defined as actively meeting the following requirements:

  1. Currently attending Church of Southland for at least one year
  2. Regular attendance of Sunday Worship
  3. Regular attendance of cell group
  4. Regular tithing
  5. Completed Experiencing God discipleship
  6. Attended Encounter Retreat
* Applicants must also provide two (2) references, provided in the application.

* College Students - Experiencing God discipleship and Encounter Retreat are not required however a reference from our college pastor is required.
