Cell Procedures

  1. NEW MEMBERS ONLY
New members are allowed up to three cell visits. They must commit to one cell group by mid-September as too many visits causes disruption. Consistent attendance in one cell group fosters growth and provides proper accountability.
  2. SWITCHING GUIDELINES
Members should try to stay in the same cell group so there is no disruption in the growth process. Members are allowed to switch cell groups if a change of circumstances such as change of location or schedule disallow them from attending their current cell. However, zone leader approval is necessary. This is to prevent people from avoiding uncomfortable situations, help them build character, strengthen relationships, and provide proper accountability.
  3. RELATIVES, SIBLINGS, CLOSE FRIENDS
People with familial or close relationships should attend separate cell groups. This ensures that they are able to share freely.
  4. COMMUNICATION WITH ZONE LEADERS
Please communicate with your zone leader. They often have a broader perspective and access to additional information.
  5. PRIVACY
Cell groups are a confidential environment. Information shared in cell should not be shared with anyone else including spouses. Naturally, a duty to warn and protect applies to cells.
  6. SOCIAL CELLS
Social cells should only be once a quarter. Please do not exceed this frequency. Regular cell group meetings are foundational to fostering growth.
  7. IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL CELL INTERNS
Qualities of a potential cell intern are consistency, spirituality, a heart for discipleship, and spiritual gifting.
  8. CELL INTERN TRAINING
Cell intern training takes place gradually leading up to leading cell group meetings once a month.

COUNSELING

  1. GENERAL COUNSELING
Cell leaders first email Min. Following the leader's email, the member seeking counseling should email Min. After receiving communications from both the leader and the member, a triage will be conducted to assess.

  2. MARRIAGE COUNSELING
Cell leaders first email Pastor Steve. Following the leader's email, the member seeking counseling should email Pastor Steve. After receiving communications from both the leader and the member, a triage will be conducted to assess.

  3. PASTORAL MEET-UP
Members should email Min. They will fill out a form for the nature of the meeting. This will save time for the pastors and any direct questions or counseling needs will be directed to the appropriate pipelines. The only exception to this procedure is if the pastor chooses to handle the meeting personally.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT

  1. CELL GROUP SUPPORT AND COUNSELING HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED: A COUPLE IS STILL ON THE VERGE OF DIVORCE
Cell leaders should email Min. A crisis mentor will be assigned along with the zone leader. Cell group care and prayer support will be encouraged throughout the process.
  2. ADDICTIONS: SUBSTANCES, GAMBLING, SEXUAL
    Please see the above procedure.
  3. MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: SUICIDAL IDEATION
    Please see the above procedure.
  4. GENDER IDENTITY OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION ISSUES
    Please see the above procedure.
