'Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins by calling on His name.'

Now standing before the leaders of the Jewish community in Jerusalem, Paul makes his appeal by sharing his testimony. He begins with how the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness in his life brought him from being a prosecutor of Christians to becoming one of them. He describes his conversion experience and shares the path the Lord has placed him on. After reflecting upon the experience, we see the question in verse 16, “Why delay?” Paul remembers the call of Ananias who proclaimed healing over him and brought the message of Jesus Christ to him. And we see the immediacy with which Paul is called to believe.

This is what I believe God is doing for us now. There is no reason to delay in following after the Lord. No thinking needed. No processing needed. The irresistible call of Jesus is shared for all to listen and follow. The call of the Lord is upon you today. Why wait any longer? He calls us to come into His comfort. Into His arms. He provides all that we need, for He is all that we need. Let us just follow His call, today, tomorrow, and for all of eternity.
